“Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.” Proverbs 12:25
Ever been in a room full of people having a good time and felt really isolated from them? Maybe it was because you had something heavy on your heart. Those situations always seem to come at the wrong time. No one around you may know it, yet your heart just feels heavy.
That kind of heaviness, regardless of what is causing it, makes your whole atmosphere suffer. People can usually pick up on something like that. Solomon said as much, that when the heart is heavy your whole being is affected. And if you have ever been in a situation like that, or perhaps you are going through one right now, you know what it feels like for someone to give you a “good word”.
The Lord knows just exactly what is on your heart. Maybe it’s been an ongoing situation or struggle. Sometimes your heart may feel heavy and you don’t know what is making you feel that way, but the Lord does. You need someone to come along and just give you the right words of encouragement. The Lord is a discerner of the thoughts and intentions of the heart. He might be using you to give someone else that encouraging word they need. The Word divides asunder your heavy spirit from your aching soul and knows exactly what it is that is going on and what you need (Hebrews 4:12).
Maybe you see someone around you who has a heavy heart. Why not give them an encouraging word today? Send them a note or give them a quick call. Just say a prayer for them and let them know you prayed. A good word will brighten up their day.
Some things happen that cause our hearts to be heavy, but keep your chin up because the Lord knows what is going on and has an answer for you.
Say a good word to someone today.
I'm a stranger to you, lady. You are standing here for someone else. And that lady is in a hospital, been very sick, cancer. And the doctors can do no more. And you're in need of prayer, too, 'cause you got a heavy heart. But God knows the secrets of the heart. Do you believe He can tell me what your heaviness is about? It's because you want a baby. And I see two dark shadows. You've had two miscarriages in your time. That is correct. Brother William Branham, Christ Knocking At The Door
