Devotional – Thanksgiving

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”  Psalm 100:4

Thanksgiving Day: where American families all across the nation join with family and friends to celebrate the bountiful blessings we have. The holiday has its roots traced back to the celebration of the Puritans in 1621 at Plymouth Rock. This feast was a result of the abundant harvest that would most likely carry them through another hard winter. It was a time where men and women joined together to give thanks to God.

Even though this is an American holiday, we as Believers have so much to be thankful for. The Psalmist wrote, “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving.” The day you were born again and gave your heart to Christ was the day you walked through His gates. We have access to the kingdom of God through His Spirit and that in itself is enough to make Thanksgiving Day a very special day. Brother Branham said in the sermon, Invisible Union Of The Bride, 1965, “Why not make this one of the greatest Thanksgivings you ever had when you received Jesus Christ as your Saviour.”

Spending time with family is so important in this world. Spending time with people who are the most important to you while celebrating the many blessings we have is something that should not be taken for granted.

Take the time this Thanksgiving Day to thank the Lord for all He has done in your life; for the many blessings He has bestowed upon you. Let us glorify the Lord this day in thanksgiving.

And Father, someday, may we have Thanksgiving together when You're crowned the King of king and the Lord of lords. That great Thanksgiving day, when all the saints shall rally together, God, help us to work for that day while we're here on earth, and may You give us Divine strength.  47-1123 – “The Children Of Israel”
