Backyard Missions

I recently received a  email  from Bro. John Andes regarding  "local missions" that their local assembly,  Cloverdale Bibleway was involved in.  We often think of missionary work as leaving your home and traveling to a distant country.  We often forget that there is so much that can be done in our own backyard.  May the pictures and the letter  from Bro. John encourage us to think of missions differently and look for opportunites to share what God is doing in our hour,  in our own backyard.  That last seed may not be in Africa, India or China but they could be in the town that you live in.

From Bro. John:

These are a few photos of the “front lines” of the Lynden Witnessing, at the Fair, this week. This is part of our responsibility of “Local Missions” and to spread the Word in our own “backyard”.  Some can go to the nations abroad, but we all can participate locally, where we live.  This has been a wonderful week, with many testimonies and good witnesses with young and older ones.
I have been at the booth ourselves and witnessed of the Power of the Believers and their testimonies.  So happy to see the younger ones, children, middle-aged ones, and elders spreading out a Great Light!!
Thank you for your support and prayers.  It is not in vain and is good for our local congregation to express their Revelation and what the Lord has done for them and in this Generation.  Thank the Lord for the Message of the Hour and the Gospel that has been shed abroad in our hearts and live, and in our families!!
God bless you!!

Very well said, and very interesting approach. Thanks for posting the letter and photographs. It was only two days ago that I had supper with Bro. James Miller, and evangelist in our assembly, and we discussed becoming more involved in local missions. This article will help us with some directions on how to approach this issue.

Thanks and God bless each of you.
