Guest Post: Awaiting a New Cycle

By Ben & Samantha Norrod

We are told in death, the cycle of fall and winter sets in, spiritually speaking. During winter, the seed remains cold. The body once containing life goes back to the acids and gases. The cycle of death brings about the fulfillment of Genesis 2:17, “…For in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” (KJV); however, we are reminded of another cycle, the cycle of Life.

After the spring equinox, the S-U-N will come around again ending the cycle of death. The seed brings forth again from the germ of life laying within it, and the seed produces a new body. The undertaker may place your body in earthly holdings of man, but just as the coming of the S-U-N brings about L-I-F-E again for the natural seed, the coming of the S-O-N will bring you forth from the ground again. Jesus said in St. John 6:40, “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day” (KJV).

The Apostle Paul wrote in I Thessalonians 4:14, “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him” (KJV). The emphasis of our resurrection is upon the solid belief of Jesus rising from the dead. Brother Branham said,

…And I know that setting before me, like every mortal here tonight, is a great big black door setting yonder. And every time that heart beats, you’re going one step closer to it. It’s called death. One time your heart beats, that’s one time less it’ll ever beat again. And we’re going that way. I don’t know when it’s going to stop, but when I enter there, I don’t want to go like a coward; I want to wrap myself in His righteousness, entering into that channel of death, knowing this, that I’m persuaded that I know Him in the power of His resurrection; for He has resurrected me from a life of sin and made me His servant…” (A Greater Witness, Owensboro, KY, November 15, 1953, para 26).
