Throw the drunk out

By Michael Tidwell

A pastor  recently shared a story with me regarding my grandpa Tidwell.   Years ago, they were having a tent meeting together and four drunks stumbled into the tent.  Immediately, some of the people wanted to throw them out.    My grandpa  was of a different opinion.  He felt they should stay because  they needed Christ just as everybody else did.   After the service, one of the drunks came to the altar and prayed.  The drunk that came to  the altar, so happens was the father of the pastor who shared this story with me.   The compassion that my grandpa showed toward the four drunks meant a lot to my pastor friend.   Being a moral faithful  follower of the Word for our day,  does not minimize our need for Christ.  A loyal church member is just as in need of Christ as the prostitute. Each of us need Christ equally.    There is no prerequisite to coming to Christ, other than a true desire and  hunger to  allow Him to be the King of our life.

Remember, one time we were all sinners, cut off from God, without mercy, without any hope, walking about in the world, darkness, lost forever; Jesus taken our place as a sinner and died in our stead.   – Bro. William Branham / Prodigal

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.   Matthew 25:40

Michael and his wife Crista,  are blessed to have three beautiful  children (Noah, Gracie, Luke).  They  live in the middle TN area and  attend Eagle Christian church.   He counts  it a honor to be involved with Eagle’s View, BYC  and serving as a evangelist.   They  enjoy being outdoors, traveling and above all serving the Lord.
